WHO better to judge the quality of a wine than the consumer themselves?

The King Valley Vignerons Shed Wine Show in Victoria is the only wine tasting show where the public select the winners.

King Valley Vigneron president David Maples said the show was likely to draw more than 300 tasters.

"The event began in the early 1980s to get growers together," David said.

"This year we have over 130 wine entries, our biggest ever."

The show, to be held on October 4, offers visitors the chance to sample wines from Australia's most diverse premium wine region.

King Valley wine producers, both professional and amateur, are invited to showcase their wine.

"It's a great opportunity for growers to compare their wines and get first hand feedback from the public," David said.

And in case you lack the tasting expertise to judge, a wine tasting course will be available on the day.

An exciting new addition to this year's program will be gourmet cooking demonstrations, giving the public the chance to match a wine with each dish prepared.

Evening entertainment includes an after show party and awards presentation.

The show is on at Gracebrook Stables cellar door in the King Valley.
