ONE of eastern Australia's machinery meccas, the Henty Machinery Field Days, is now on. Tell us what you think of this year's event.

The annual machinery fest is home to about 700 exhibitors from across Australia and will be visited by 50,000 people over three days.

Organised by farmers, one of the keys to Henty's success is its focus on machinery, but it also acknowledges families with a variety of events and exhibitions that will suit a wider audience such as sheep dog trials and fashion parades.

And while commodity prices are strong, the field days will be put to test as a lack of rain has put grain growers north of the Great Divide under pressure.

Dairy farmer Jason Brooks, from Barooga, in NSW, who farms 1340ha, has already made the decision to cut his triticale and canola for hay.

"At least we will have feed for the dairy cows this summer," he said.
