A DESIRE to reward the hard work of community-minded members of rural and regional Australia has inspired a hunt.
The "Have you got the Spirit" competition, run by the Spirit of Tasmania, is offering entrants $15,000 in prizes as a reward for their achievements.
Cricket legend Max Walker is one of the competition's judges and says he is delighted to be involved in this fantastic campaign.
"My generation is not always given the recognition it deserves and this is a step towards changing that," Max says.
"I believe there are quiet acheivers hidden in all corners of Australia."
Winners must be 45 and over and not letting age stop them when it comes to enjoying and making the most of life.
"What a great way to celebrate ordinary people's life experiences," Max says.
Two winners will be lavished with a luxury Australian holiday for themselves and three friends.
Call for nominations are open until 30th November. Entrants are asked to submit in no more that 250 words why they think their nominated 'Active Adult' deserves to win the title.
Entries can be submitted via the website spiritoftasmania.com.au or via post, at: Have you got the Spirit? Promotion, PO Box 323, Port Melbourne, Victoria 3207. Full terms and conditions can be found on the website.
