SUPERFINE wool Merino rams sold to a top of $10,000 at the Rock-Bank on property sale at Dunkeld, Victoria.
The sale, held yesterday, achieved a complete clearance of 49 rams for an exceptional average of $2329.
It's not a bad result considering the season and market conditions,'' said Rock-Bank principal John Crawford.
"It appears that some of our clients must be making money out of sheep,'' Mr Crawford said.
The top price of $10,000 was paid by NSW New England producer Fiona Kliendeinst for a 15.9-micron ram.
Ms Kliendeinst runs an ultrafine shedded sheep operation at Uralla.
New Zealand interests were also active with the purchase of of three rams.
John and Susan Elliott of Central Otago paid the second top price of $8000.
