RECORDS were smashed at this year's Deni Ute Muster. See the pictures!

The event set an official world record ute count of 7242 utes and an official world record blue singlet count of 2702 people.

Orgnisers said never in the event's history have they been forced to shut the front gate of the festival Saturday morning because the Ute paddock wasfull.

"New arrivals had to be re directed to a paddock at the back of the 120 acre site," they said.

The Family Camping area doubled in size this year with thousands of caravans, sedans, camper trailers and motor homes rolling in.

John Harvie, Festival Director said he could not believe just how many people attended.

"Although ticket sales prior to the event were fantastic we were still a little concerned about numbers due to high fuel prices and the economic climate," John said.

"Last year we had around 18,000 people attend, this year we are still tallying up sales but it looks at this stage to being around 25,000 people.

"The World Record Blue Singlet count in the Bull Ride Arena was incredible. There would have been another thousand people outside the arena who couldn’t fit in."

2008 Ute of the Year winner was James Kingdom from St Clair, NSW, who took home the title with his 2005 Ford FPV Super Pursuit.

With the 10th Birthday celebrations over, festival organisers said they would soon begin plans for the 2009 Deni Ute Muster.
