SOUTH Australia's food producers will vie for honours on November 14 at the 11th Premier's Food Awards.
AdelaideNow reports that this year's awards focus on environmental sustainability with finalists named by acting agriculture, food and fisheries minister Jane Lomax-Smith, including biodynamic dairy B.-d. Farm Paris Creek, meat and cheese distributor Barossa Fine Foods and Waygu beef exporter Mayura Station and Spencer Gulf and West Coast Prawn Fishermen's Association.
"South Australia's reputation is for producing distinctive, world-class food and, in addition to that, we are becoming increasingly known for our environmentally sustainable, or green, clean cuisine,'' Ms Lomax-Smith told AdelaideNow.
Winners of the awards will come from nine categories: young leaders, workforce development, environmental sustainability, exports, innovation, new products, services to industry, and value adding for small and large enterprises.
