NATIONAL Foods and Fonterra have agreed for Fonterra to acquire the licence for Ski brands from National Foods.
However, the move will only go ahead if National Foods's bid for Dairy Farmers is successful.
Fonterra acquired the rights to manufacture, market and sell Nestle's yoghurt and dairy dessert brands in Australia in September.
As a part of that transaction Fonterra also acquired the long term rights to the Ski brand from 2012, when Dairy Farmers's licence ends.
The agreement between Fonterra and National Foods is conditional on the Dairy Farmers shareholder vote and regulatory approval.
Under the agreement, for the next two years National Foods would continue to manufacture, on behalf of Fonterra, the entire range of Ski yoghurts produced by Dairy Farmers.
