HOLSTEINS sold to a top of $6000 at the North West Stars of the Future Sale in Rochester.
The North West Holstein Australia sub-branch resurrected its annual sale on Tuesday, after a six-year break caused by the drought.
Kerri Ross of Jaslana Holsteins paid a top price of $6000 for the 10-month-old Ingolmore Airraid Lisa, by the bull Sildahl Airraid. The heifer was sold by Travis and Karlee Gilmore.
Cohuna's Gordon Brothers paid $5400 for the second top price, for two-year-old heifer Corra Lea Luckymike Jean.
The heifer, which has been joined to Braedale Goldwyn, was sold by John and Pat Prout, also of Cohuna.
Clydebank Allen Whisper, a 14-month-old Canyon Breeze Allen heifer, backed by four generations of EX and VG dams, went for $4500, to Geoff Horrocks of Yalca.
The 34 lots averaged $3067 and grossed $104,300.
