GOVERNOR-GENERAL Quentin Bryce will embark on the second leg of her tour of the drought-ridden Murray Darling Basin next week.
Ms Bryce and her husband, Michael Bryce, will visit five communities in NSW and Victoria.
During the trip, she will meet with environmental scientists at Charles Sturt University in southern NSW and visit the Northern Victoria Irrigation Renewal project.
The couple will also visit Albury-Wodonga and Deniliquin in NSW and Shepparton, Echuca and Blighty in northern Victoria.
Tensions are running high across the Murray Darling Basin as farmers and towns compete for scarce water resources.
In early October, Ms Bryce toured the Menindee Lakes in western NSW, Broken Hill, Mildura, Red Cliffs, Wentworth, Adelaide, and the river mouth at Goolwa in South Australia.
