WELL known Guidebook series, Frommer's, has come up with a list of 500 places to see before they die, based on whether they're under threat from developers or climate change.

Twenty one of the places are in Australia, and include Sydney's Luna Park, the underground homes of Coober Pedy, Fraser Island, The Great Barrier Reef and Kakadu National Park.

The whole of Tasmania also features, with attention drawn to the endangered Tasmanian Devil.

Frommer's 500 Places To See Before They Disappear, also includes iconic attractions like the Tower of London and Greenwich Maritime Museum, the pyramids of Giza, the southern Florida Everglades ecosystem and the Dead Sea.
