PERFORMANCE Ponies Australia is holding its first annual Welsh and native-pony breeders invitation sale next week.

The group hopes the event will be a small sale of quality, purebred ponies of Welsh and other native breeding. It will be held on Melbourne Cup Day, at the Victorian Equestrian Centre.

"With the growing popularity of performance ponies, breeders and prospective purchasers can be confident there will be a sale to look forward to, and plan towards, each year," organiser Fiona Dearing said.
