A JOGGER in the US who was attacked by a rabid fox, ran a mile with the animal still biting her arm and then drove herself to hospital, the local sheriff's office said.
Associated Press reports that the Yavapai County sheriff’s office said the woman told police that she was on a trail near Prescott, Arizona, on Monday, when the fox bit her foot.
She grabbed the fox by its neck, but it bit her arm.
AP said the woman wanted the animal tested for rabies so she ran a mile to her car with the fox still clamped to her arm, then pulled it off and put it in her car boot. She then drove to the hospital.
The feisty fox later bit an animal control officer. Both he and the woman received rabies vaccinations.
