A NEW report recommends Australia establish a National Biofuels Institute to improve collaboration between local biofuels researchers. 

The Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering report says the institute should resemble the Global Carbon Capture and Storage Institute, or the Australian Solar Institute.

ATSE says Australia has an impressive group of biofuels researchers and an institute could improve mutual cooperation between them.

The Biofuels report will be  launched in Melbourne today.
