WOOLPRODUCERS' new senior vice president, Bret Finlay, has called on the new Australian Wool Innovation Board to "get on with the job."
The Queensland fine wool producer and AgForce Sheep and Wool president was elected to the position today and joins WoolProducers Australia president Don Hamblin and vice president Geoff Fiskin.
He said his priorities would be to improve profitability and ensure accountability in the investment of shareholder funds in research, development and marketing.
Mr Finlay called on the new Australian Wool Innovation board to unite to "deliver tangible outcomes for wool growers who are facing many challenges."
"Get on with the job by focusing on the profitability and longevity of the industry," he said.
"As the research, development and marketing body for the wool industry, AWI has a duty to shareholders to work in the best interests of all and not get bogged down in petty politics and personal agendas. All directors must leave personalities out of the running of the company."
