SO YOU reckon you're having a rotten harvest, with poor yields and rain interruptions?
Well, spare a thought for the croppers in northern NSW.
Not only have they cracked it for their first big crop in four years, but now, when they are roughly halfway through the harvest, they've been hit by torrential rain and hail.
Troy Brien, from Elders Insurance at Moree, said some growers had received 150-175mm in the past few weeks.
That equates to the entire growing-season rainfall for many Victorian croppers.
Last week a hail storm east of Moree damaged growers' crops, vehicles and buildings.
"We've gone from six to seven headers burning (earlier in the harvest) and now there are headers bogged," Mr Brien said.
He said while a few farmers had finished harvest, some were only a third of the way through.
"They just got back on and they have got whacked again," he said.
