WHEAT from Western Australia's accelerating harvest of winter grains is being exported without problems through Cooperative Bulk Handling's facilities at Geraldton port, a company spokeswoman said.

In mid-November, the company urged growers to commit their grain to a collective sales pool operator or to sell it, allowing the grain to move to the export terminal and onto vessels from upcountry storages and not clog CBH's storage and handling system.

Growers had been taking advantage of a 21-day period of free warehousing in CBH storages to consider their marketing options.

Nominations of grain by growers rose "significantly" over the past week as their free warehousing period expired, freeing the grain to move through CBH's system, the spokeswoman said.

"There's no real problem at this stage" in loading grain onto ships, she said by telephone from CBH's Perth headquarters. "They do have the grain to load the ships."

CBH, which hasn't incurred any demurrage at Geraldton, has four vessels scheduled to arrive at the port by Tuesday.

Australian agribusiness AWB Ltd also has a vessel scheduled to arrive Monday.
