AUSTRALIA's largest milk processor, Murray Goulburn, welcomed two new directors to its board today.

Murray Goulburn suppliers elected Ken Jones and Graham Munzel to the board the annual general meeting in Melbourne today.

Mr Jones, who is a Kiewa Valley farmer, replaces director of 23 years, Lindsay Jarvis, in zone one, northeast Victoria.

Mr Jones, together with wife Lynne, daughter Rachel and son-in-law Peter Romans, milk 300 cows on their farm.

In the past he has worked with Murray Goulburn as their milk supply and field services manager.

Mr Munzel, who milks about 240 cows at Gunbower, Victoria, replaces Warren Miles, who retired, in zone three in northern Victoria.

MG chairman Ian MacAulay has one year left at the helm before he retires.

Voting members at the meeting also approved a five per cent increase in the non-executive directors' remuneration aggregate of $600,000.

About 200 people were at the meeting and applauded Murray Goulburn's work in securing a $101 million profit before tax for 2007-08.

Murray Goulburn processes more than 35 per cent of Australia's milk supply and collected 3.25 billion litres of milk in 2007-08.
