OUR call for recession-busting tips got Marge Watson from Sea Lake in Victoria going on ways to extend the life of bed sheets.
Marge said you take your old worn sheet and fold it lengthwise. Sew the two previously outside edges together and then make a new lengthwise cut down what was the middle of the sheet.
Hem the cut bits and hey presto - a new lease of life as the worn bits go to the outside and the less worn come to the middle.
