WITHIN just hours calling for donations of fodder, Southern Farming Systems has been inundated with offers.
SFS field technician Gary Sheppard said within a few hours of sending an email to members a major trucking company had donated a B-double truck of oats.
He said individual farmers and businesses had also donated two B-double trucks of triticale hay, three semi-trailers of canola hay, oaten straw and cereal hay and a further 50 rolls of hay.
"We've had calls from Gippsland to Bordertown," Mr Sheppard said.
"The main issue now is getting it from point A to B."
Mr Sheppard said he hoped to get three truckloads of feed through to Strathewen, south-west of Kinglake, if the roads were re-opened.
Donations can be dropped at the SFS site in Inverleigh, west of Geelong, or call Gary on 0407 535 090.
