THE nation's farmers are rallying together to support the victims of both the Victorian bushfires and the Queensland floods.

The National Farmers Federation says it has been inundated with phone calls from farmers across the country wanting to "lend a hand" in whatever way they can.

"Farmers across the country are rallying to the aid of those devastated by bushfires and flood," NFF president David Crombie said.

The NFF was working with the Victorian Farmers Federation and AgForce Queensland to find out the exact needs on the ground, he said.

The Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association has offered loads of fodder for shipment to fire and drought affected areas to keep livestock alive, while other states are looking at similar measures depending on the needs of those in both states.

The events of the last few days "rammed home" the devastating and bitter extremes that people on the land face, Mr Crombie said.

"No one is immune."

With the appalling loss of life, livestock, property, communities, businesses and farmland still growing, it was too soon to determine the enormity of the full toll, he said.
