KYNETON property Wildwood offers a rural atmosphere to raise a family or a great place to escape the city on weekends.

The 26ha property boasts an immaculate brick homestead with three bedrooms, generous-sized living areas, a delightful garden of mature trees and views to Mt Macedon.

Clive and Tracy Fanning bought Wildwood four years ago, as a place to escape to on the weekends.

"Wildwood is an easy-to-manage property and very versatile," Clive said.

"It's warm in winter, cool in summer.

"The thing I love best about this place is the serenity - it's a wonderful change from the city."

Clive said he and Tracy had been warmly embraced by local residents.

"The scenery, the pace - it's as if you've stepped into another part of Australia," he said.

In four years of ownership the Fannings have not mucked about.

They have put in a dam, refenced and rabbit-proofed the property, fixed up the cattle yards, weatherproofed the house, re-graded the road and re-roofed and re-floored the sheds.

Clay soils and an abundant water supply make Wildwood a good place to grow feed and keep livestock.

Situated in Central Rd, Wildwood is five minutes' drive from Kyneton and a hop, skip and a jump from local schools.

Kyneton is an hour's drive north of Melbourne in Victoria.
