ALAN McLean reckons now there are doubts over whether there will be enough northern water in Victoria to pipe to the south, we should come up with another use for the controversial north-south pipeline if they can't abandon the project altogether.
Alan suggests converting it to a reverse-cycle air-conditioner: fresh clean air from the north can be pumped to the city folk and hot air from Spring St back to the bush, especially in winter when it would ease the threat of frosts in northern orchards.
