THE Packer family's 26-year involvement in Australia's cattle industry is over.

Consolidated Press Holdings has finalised the sale of its pastoral division Consolidated Pastoral Company to English private equity firm Terra Firma for a rumoured 400 million plus.

CPC established in 1983 with the purchase of a cattle station in the Northern Territory has grown to 17 properties in Western Australia, the Northern Territory, Queensland and New South Wales totalling five million hectares and over 300 thousand cattle.
