WEST Australian fencing products manufacturer Southern Wire has been lending a helping hand in the wake of the Black Saturday fires.

The company has arranged a series of fencing demonstration days, the first of which is planned for Yarra Glen on Saturday, May 16.

Southern Wire is based at Bassendean, a suburb of Perth.

These days, organised in conjunction with the Victorian Farming Federation and Bushfire Recovery Centres, will offer tips to everyone from the most novice fencer to the expert fencing contractor.

The VFF is still looking for fencing volunteers and the information participants are offered on the day will provide them with enough skills and knowledge to not only put up their own fences, but also to help others.

Participants will be able to talk to advisers, take away information and buy discounted fencing products.
