BREEDERS of European cattle beware. The quiet temperament of your cattle has not impressed Federal Agriculture Minister Tony Burke.
When asked by an ABC journo what his favourite breed was during Beef 2009 in cowboy country, Rockhampton, Queensland, last week, Mr Burke backed the feisty temperament that Brahmans can be known for.
"You walk into a paddock of Brahmans and they look straight back at you. Too many of the other breeds just wander away," he said.
Maybe they just know a politician when they see one.
