THE pioneering Masters family has gained enormous public support in their bid to stop Parks Victoria evicting them from land they have occupied for 147 years.
More than 17,000 visitors to weeklytimesnow.com.au and heraldsun.com.au read the article.
Many registered support for the family and dismay at Parks Victoria's decision. Others phoned Rob Masters with messages of support.
"I've had calls from Mallacoota to Mildura," Mr Masters said.
"I also got a call from a Melbourne barrister offering to do some pro-bono work."
Robert's great-grandfather, Fredrick Masters, built the family's first house on the 2ha site in 1863.
Yet Parks Victoria has repeatedly stated there is no place for the Masters family there.
But Mr Masters is refusing to budge.
"There's no way they'll take me out of here, unless it's in a box," Rob said.
