A 1.2km span of powerline crossing a gully near Kilmore has been implicated in the the fire in which 119 people died during Black Saturday's bushfires.

Police believe the line fell and ignited a fire, which burnt out 1244 homes and more than 250,000ha.

The line has since been replaced, but The Weekly Times is asking readers to detail any power lines in their district they fear may pose a risk this summer.

Whether its old leaning power poles, overhanging tree limbs, broken guys or corroded lines, we want to hear about them before the fire season hits.
