TE MANIA Angus recorded a top result at its northern spring bull sale at Walgett, NSW, last week.
All 122 bulls offered sold for an average of $5664 and reached a $14,000 top.
Chris Knox and Helen Alexander, of Bora Station at Coonabarabran, NSW, bought the top-priced bull, Te Mania Corfu C1118, by homebred sire Te Mania Zambia Z69.
Corfu had estimated breeding values +104kg for 600-day weight, and $125 for the long-fed index.
Te Mania Angus director Tom Gubbins said while stud breeders cherry-picked the catalogue, it was discerning commercial breeders who had put a floor in the sale.
