THE Yarra Valley Mountain District Football League has until Friday to lodge an appeal against Silvan Football Club's transfer to the Eastern Football League.

AFL Victoria approved Silvan's switch to the metropolitan league last week.

The Yarra Valley league and the Victorian Country Football League opposed the move, citing a clause in the competition's constitution requiring clubs to give 12 months' notice before leaving.

But AFL Victoria's constitution does not contain the same clause.
