A BRUMBY hunter missing for more than two days in Victoria's high country has been found and is believed to be well.
A search resumed for the 35-year-old from Gippsland this morning after he was last seen chasing a stallion in the state's high plains on Friday evening about 7pm.
Fellow brumby hunters raised the alarm on Saturday when they failed to find him in the Alpine National Park in the state's northeast.
Rescue teams found the man about 10.15am.
Bush Search and Rescue Victoria spokesman Merv Trease said the man walked up to rescuers close to Charlie's Creek Campsite, near the Davies Plain area and the Murray River.
"He walked and met up with a group who were in the field searching for him. They are sending specialist (medical) people in to check him out,'' he told AAP.
"He is in pretty good condition.''
The region is at high altitudes and it has been raining since the brumby hunter went missing.
