The two girls (above) were having fun on this pile of newly harvested barley last week on the family farm at Patchewollock.
"Proof that Mallee kids don't need water to have fun on a 41C day," the girls' mum, Tracy, said.
Just as well, Tracy, given the last few years of drought.
Maybe barley surfing could one day become a new extreme sport.
