THE `"Wild, whacky and wonderful" Ag Art Competition at Elmore (WT, October 14) was certainly that.

With a son struggling with a dairy farm in this current climate I was amused by the "Milking Sucks" outfit.

I thought it was quite a wonderful feat for a young girl to appreciate the poor milk prices being received by dairy farmers.

Our son left school at 18 and leased his property, before purchasing it more than two years ago and is dedicated to being a dairy farmer for life.

But it has certainly been a testing time for him, with the drought clinging on and then farm-gate milk prices being cut by half.

I think the drought has certainly tested all of us and it has been hard watching our son struggle through, but he is determined he will survive.
