SUPPLIERS of premium brand Certified Australian Angus Beef have been recognised for their contribution to the brand's success at the recent CAAB Quality Awards in Melbourne.
NSW Angus producers dominated the winner's list, picking up all the major awards for excellence in compliance and quality - two of the founding principals of the premium brand.
The awards coincided with the release of another premium burger made with CAAB product in the Australian fast food sector last week - the Hungry Jack's Angry Angus burger.
CAAB chief executive Phil Morley said the new product would provide added competition for CAAB product and ultimately benefit Angus producers.
"It's another example of how we are growing and working to get more value for producers," Mr Morley said.
"But we can't do it without the suppliers and these must be acknowledged for their consistent performance and overall contribution.
"That our suppliers continue to produce cattle of such a high standard in sometimes very challenging conditions is remarkable and part of what makes the brand unique."
Benah Partnership, Coolac, NSW, was awarded the supplier with the best overall performance in cattle processed between January 1 and June 30.
Consignments from Highbank Pastoral Co, Young, NSW, and CH and AJ Onus Coolac, NSW, were also recognised for excellence in overall performance.
Highbank Pastoral Co also received the award for the best overall marbling from the Molineaux family of Adelong, NSW, and Benah Partnership, both of whom were also recognised for excellence in marbling.
