KEVIN Smith, of Tatong, near Benalla, will open his collection of old Holdens to the public again this year.

Kevin, whose property, Riverview, is on the Tolmie road south of Benalla, has planned his open day for this Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

Kevin first decided to collect Holdens when he was just 16 years old.

He has one of every Holden model, from the first 48/215, better known as the FX, to the last of the true Holdens, the 1977-79 HZ, before they turned them into Commodores.

Holden car clubs and individual owners are also welcome to come along and display their cars.

The day will also include live music, a barbecue lunch, wine sales, a mini antiques roadshow and tours of the historic St Patrick's church, which sits on the property.

Entry costs $5 (children free), with proceeds going to cancer research.
