GRAB your camera and start taking photos around your farm.

It could make you a winner.

Images of farms in southwest Victoria can be entered in a new segment in next year's Great South West Dairy Awards.

It will be the fifth time the awards have been presented and the photo category will add another element to a night that recognises high-achieving employers and employees, and natural resource management.

Warrnambool dispersal

JERSEYS sold to $1700, and Holsteins to $1925 at a dispersal sale at Warrnambool last week.

Selling agents Landmark reported that Timboon dairy farmers Doug and Margaret Trigg offered 106 milking cows and sold 104 to average $1432.

Most of the Jersey, crossbred and Holstein herd began calving from July 25.

The top price of $1925 was paid by the Jenkins family, of Jancourt near Timboon, for a third-lactation, freshly calved Holstein cow sired by Corktime.
