SILVAN Australia has added several enhancements to its three-point linkage, or tractor-mounted Pasturepak sprayer range.
The improvements relate to Silvan's 400, 600 and 800-litre Pasturepak sprayers.
Product manager David Carr said the sprayers now provided farmers with more spraying options.
"The Pasturepak sprayers have proved very popular as a linkage sprayer and the new improvements reflect customer feedback," he said.
"A priority improvement was to give the spray boom the ability to be raised and lowered to suit crops and pastures of varying height.
"So we had the chassis redesigned to incorporate a vertical steel channel to make it easy for the spray boom to be raised and lowered."
The amount of vertical travel available varies depending on the tank and boom size, but David said it was mostly between 500 and 1000mm.
There are four fixing bolts, which simply need to be slackened to move the boom up or down.
"Then the sprayer can be adjusted to the ideal height for the crop or pasture to be sprayed," David said.
Another addition to the sprayers is an optional 70-litre flushing tank on the 800 and 1000-litre models.
The 70-litre tank is moulded to fit between the main spray tank and its galvanised steel structural frame.
It provides operators with the opportunity to safely flush the sprayer's tank, filter, boom and spray nozzles.
David said the ability to clean the sprayer down was becoming increasingly important.
David said the sprayer's frame and its boom were made of galvanised steel for a long working life and the diaphragm pump was driven by the tractor's power take-off shaft.
Pump capacities can vary from 58 to 121 litres a minute.
Silvan makes range of boom choices for the linkage sprayers.
The booms can be up to 15 metres in width to suit a variety of applications.
Other options in the three-point linkage sprayer range include electric control valves, a foam marker and hose reels with pressure hose and spray gun for spot spraying.
