IT LOOKS like a scene from one of those car insurance ads where some poor sod finds his vehicle demolished by a runaway car steered by a toddler or a dog after accidentally releasing the handbrake.

But unfortunately, this was no carefully controlled stunt.

The driver of the header lost control while driving down Main St in Stawell last Thursday and careered into the parked ute, coming to rest against a lamp post.

Apparently the header's hydraulics suddenly packed up and the driver could not stop.

Luckily, no one was seriously hurt, Ray, who witnessed the crash, said.

Even luckier was the fact the ute stopped the header crashing into the bar of the Gift Hotel.

"We all know the rain has ruined a lot of crops, but it must be bad when you have to start harvesting cars!" Ray said.
