KEVIN Rudd will be accompanied by up to 113 Australian officials and staff at the Copenhagen climate summit, including his own personal photographer.

The Australian delegation is one of the biggest at the UN climate summit, with a carbon footprint to match, the Herald Sun reports.

Great Britain, with more than three times Australia's population, has about 70 registered delegates,

China, with 250 times more people than Australia, has about 230.

The Australian contingent includes up to nine media advisers, five bodyguards and 12 staff from the Prime Minister's office, according to a provisional list of participants produced a week ago.

The Prime Minister's spokesman said some of those registered to attend would not travel to the conference.

But Mr Rudd's official photographer is a starter. He will trail the PM from his arrival at the conference next week.

The Australian contingent also includes state government representatives.

Climate Change Minister Penny Wong arrived in the Danish capital yesterday while Australia's climate change ambassador Louise Hand is also attending.

According to official estimates, each conference participant will emit about 2.7 tonnes of carbon per person, excluding air travel.

When flights are included, the Australian contingent could pump out 500 tonnes of greenhouse gases attending the two-week summit.
