JUST over three years ago, we took the plunge and moved from a mining town in NSW, to regional Victoria.

There's not much work for a geologist in Shepparton, but the school - which offers expert teachers and facilities to teach deaf children within a mainstream school - was the draw card.

It was a huge gamble.

Reading my son's school report, however, it was all worthwhile.

We love the country lifestyle and all it has to offer our young family.

Our children are thriving and we are grateful everyday that we followed this path.

It can be isolating to make a change like this, so I always enjoy reading the views of other regional people, particularly women on the land.
