THE protest outside AWB's headquarters last week by a group of farmers lamenting the loss of the single desk raised a few eyebrows.
Not least by their poor spelling.
The inscription on the coffin read: "R.I.P. rural communities loosing the single desk - another nail in the coffin."
Back Paddock thought: what an embarrassment to farmers. At least they could have spelled 'losing' correctly.
It makes them look like a bunch of hicks.
The next day, Back Paddock was reading what the learned scribes down at The Age had to say about AWB's annual general meeting.
It was bemused to find the following: "At a fiery AGM, several wheat growers attacked the board over its performance, accusing the company of loosing touch with the farming community ... "
It seems they are all a bit loose with their spelling.
