HORSES across Victoria will be hoping for a big turn-out to the Hearts for Horses Market and Family Fun Day this weekend.
The event, in its second year, aims to raise much-needed funds for Project Hope Horse Welfare Victoria.
The not-for-profit, self-funded organisation is dedicated to helping horses in need through education of owners, provision of emergency care and rescue and rehabilitation of abandoned, sick, injured or mistreated horses.
The first event, in 2008, was hampered by torrential rain, but still raised $2000. However, a move to summer should rule that out from happening again.
- The event will run from 9am to 4.30pm this Sunday at the Yarra Glen & Lilydale Hunt Club, 28 Melba Hwy, Yering (Melway ref: 281 CS).
