THE Goulburn Valley has been officially declared free of Queensland fruit fly.
The declaration follows a successful eradication program in the wake of the outbreak last April.

Finalists named
FIVE finalists have been chosen for this year's Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation Rural Women's Award.
They are Benalla beef producer Alana Johnson, Euroa pig producer Claire Penniceard, Young Agribusiness Professionals chair Prue Addlem, from Serpentine, farm financial management educator Rowan O'Hagan, from Wangaratta, and Horsham dryland farmer Susan Findlay Tickner.
The Victorian winner will be announced on March 11 and will join other state winners for the national award, to be announced in May.
Grazing support
A STAGGERING 92 per cent of respondents to a Weekly Times Now poll support the return of cattle grazing to the Alpine National Park. More than 1600 votes were cast in the poll.
