THREE flock dispersals following the sale of three farms on the one road at Penshurst, in western Victoria, attracted strong competition from local restockers and processors last week.

Almost 8000 sheep from the Teringa, Rouseview and Normar flocks went under the hammer.

Agents JM Ellis & Co and Kerr & Co sold the Teringa and Rouseview sheep, both of which were of Barrama and Nareeb Nareeb bloodlines and had clips which averaged 20 micron.

LMB Linke auctioned the Normar flock, which used Nareeb Nareeb genetics, and whose clip averaged 21 micron.

Barry and Val Linke, Teringa Partnership, sold 3700 Merino and Border Leicester-Merino sheep to a top of $165 for 115 1 1/2 and 2 1/2-year-old first-cross ewes, bought by a restocker.

Trevor and Debbie Linke, Rouseview Partnership, sold 2151 Merino and Border Leicester-Merino sheep.

The Linke's best lines included 351 Merino ewes, 2 1/2-year-old, which sold for $86.50, bought by an Elders Mortlake client.

Their top Border Leicester-Merino ewes, 98 1 1/2-year-olds, made $150.

Meanwhile, at Normar, N&M Rentsch's 1900 sheep attracted good demand, especially for the wethers.

Buyer for T&R Pastoral Ben Davies paid $108 for 330 four-year-old wethers and $110 for 266 five-year-old wethers.

In all, T&R bought 1300 sheep from the three sales.

Penhurst's Trevor Rentsch, and sons Scott and Darren, bought 233 Nareeb Nareeb Merino wether lambs for $60 and 270 for $68.

"They were great buying," he said.
