SUNRAYSIA locals are not generally snaky about tourists.
After all, they provide a welcome income into the towns in the district.
But one group of locals has been removed, and few are complaining.
A Horsham couple who recently travelled to the Mildura tourist spot Lock 11 found about 60 brown snakes near the gates.
A snake catcher came to the rescue and caught 25, but believes there could have been up to 60 there.
The number of snakes was believed to be the result of two lots of eggs hatching at the same time.
But it didn't stop the overactive imaginations of some people, who thought there was a "snake invasion".
