EVERYONE noticed Tandara Vinbrei Amy 106 EX 90 parading around the ring at International Dairy Week last week - especially US judge Delbert Yoder.
He declared the seven-year-old the prestigious supreme champion Brown Swiss exhibit.
But back home at Dingee, near Bendigo, Amy blends in with the herd, according to owner Ben Govett.
"She's a cow you don't notice in the herd," he said.
"Not because of type, she just fits in easily.
"She's pretty easygoing.
"She is not the first cow in. She just comes up when she is feels like it."
Describing her as "in proportion," Ben said there was nothing "extreme" about her, she was just "well balanced."
Milked as part of a 240-cow herd, 65 per cent of which are Brown Swiss and the balance Holsteins, the champion cow does not just rely on her looks.
"The main thing is she is one of the highest milking cows in the herd," Ben said.
Producing 45 litres/day last herd test with high components, it is not surprising she took home the award for best Brown Swiss udder.
Dairy Week's premier Brown Swiss breeder and exhibitor was WR&RJ Wake of Whittingham in NSW.
