ANDY Murray wasn't the only Brit trying to prove he didn't come from a country of wimps last weekend.

As Murray was battling with Roger Federer at the Australian Open, trying to resurrect the country's Braveheart image, hundreds of his fellow countrymen were sliding, crawling, wading and jumping their way through a 12km obstacle course to be named Britain's Tough Guy.

The race is billed as the world's "safest yet most dangerous taste of mental and physical pain, fear and endurance".

The Tough Guy challenge (guy being a non gender-specific term for anyone who likes to torture themselves) involves running a course containing 21 obstacles including tunnels, swamps, barbed wire - and even fire.
