SOME companies pay a fortune for marketing gurus to come up with a snappy corporate name.
Phone companies 3 and Orange are two odd ones that spring to mind.
Not so for US farming co-operative CHS Inc, which has set up a subsidiary in Australia to export wheat.
It's name? CHS DU (Australia) Pty Ltd. Catchy eh?
The company simply wanted CHS (Australia) but it was already taken.
Adding a couple of letters solved the problem.
So what what does "DU" stand for? Er, nothing, apparently, according to the company's managing director.
They just happened to be the first two letters he thought of.
But here's Back Paddock's suggestion - for free. Just tell everyone it means Down Under.
