RIDERS wore yellow armbands in memory of last year's Black Saturday bushfire victims, during the Yarra Glen Show jumping program at the weekend.
The event was staged over two days at the Australian Sporting Equine Indoor stadium in Yarra Junction, on courses designed by Bruce Milne.
Young Flowerdale rider Lachlan Brennan opened the program by winning the Glen Valley Produce Take Your Own Line, riding Snowy River Offsider.
Narre Warren North young rider Annica Robertson won the Mitavite 1.20m Championship, riding Tenterfield, while Rebecca Henry, from Grovedale, won the 1.25m jump-off class, riding Sugar Bag Spice.
Top Victorian eventing rider Emily Anker, from Wandin, won Saturday's 1.10m class, riding Keninski, while Sunday's class went to Sophie Crooke, from Sale, riding Making Ground.
Kirsten Neil, from Inverleigh, won the 1.05 AM7 class, riding HF Somertime.
Naomi Mays, from Launching Place, won two height classes, riding Dalbrook Total Eclipse and DB Colour of Cornflakes.
Debbie Droessier, from Lilydale, won the 80cm class riding Belcam Ghazal and Isabel Houghton, from Coldstream, won the 95cm class riding Yoicks Joe.
Nilton Mayfair winner
THE article "Laura, on Time, wows Gallery", (WT, February 3) named the winner of the Show Hunter Pony class as Nilton Azure.
The winner was, in fact, Nilton Mayfair, owned by Jo Cash.
The name was taken from official results received from VAS Limited.
