PETER O'Rorke reckons the Westmere Group of 19 brigades has worked well for 66 years as it is, and the CFA's push to change regional boundaries is flawed.
Mr O'Rorke, from Lake Bolac, said if the CFA pushed for his group to be split up, some committed volunteers would leave.

Mr O'Rorke said the brigades were well-organised and worked together well.
"Last year ... the CFA board decided all brigades had to be bound to their municipality area, and to this day, no one has been consulted about it," he said.
"The old government approach that one size fits all will not be tolerated in our area."
Mr O'Rorke said in the worst case scenario, some volunteers may return their equipment to the CFA and "do our own thing".
