MOUNT Compass Area School in South Australia is $500 richer after taking out the inaugural Moo'in Transfer.

The competition, based on ABC-TV's The Gruen Transfer, invited students aged 7-11 from across the country to develop an advertisement to explain why the best and brightest should seek a career in the dairy industry.

Matthew Compostella, 15, Josh Lenton, 15, and Courtney Rowe, 14, made the trip from the Fleurieu Peninsula to Wollongong in NSW.

Their advertisement was pitted against NSW, WA, QLD, Tasmanian and Victorian entries at the Australian Dairy Conference.

Technology in the dairy industry was central to the winning advertisement, with the students believing that Generation Y would welcome the opportunity to work with cutting edge technology.
